Lorraine Oakman is a practising artist from Maidstone, where she was born and raised. Lorraine likes to work in various mediums including acrylic paints, watercolour and enjoys creating with textures, using artist pastes, fabrics, beads and beach combed items. She develops her work from nature, special places, items that feed her imagination and emotive feelings. Being inspired by artists such as Claude Monet, Edgar Degas and Andre Derain she uses colour to develop her pieces in a way to probe the emotions of the viewer. Lorraine continues to develop her style and skills through her work.
